What is D.Pharmacy?+
D.Pharmacy (Diploma in Pharmacy) is a 2-year PCI-regulated diploma that qualifies you to register as a Registered Pharmacist in India. The current syllabus (ER-2020) is competency-based, with a mandatory 500-hour internship in Year 2.
What is the eligibility for D.Pharm in 2026?+
10+2 (PUC II) from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology OR Mathematics, minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC). Minimum age 17 by 31 December of the admission year. No NEET required.
How much does D.Pharm cost?+
At Noble Kalaburagi, tuition is ~₹60,000/year, ~₹1.2 lakh total. Govt seats run ₹8K–₹25K/year; metro private/management seats can hit ₹2–3 lakh/year. State scholarships (NSP, SSP, e-Pass) reduce out-of-pocket significantly for eligible students.
Is D.Pharm valid all over India?+
Yes. PCI accreditation is national. After D.Pharm, you register with your home state's Pharmacy Council (KSPC / MSPC / TSPC / APSPC etc.) and practise as a Registered Pharmacist anywhere in India.
What can I do after D.Pharmacy?+
Open a medical store (Drug Licence eligible), work as a hospital / community pharmacist (₹18K–₹35K/month starting), apply for govt pharmacist posts (PSC / ESI / Railways / defence — ₹25K–₹55K + DA), join pharma sales / industry, or lateral-entry into 2nd year B.Pharm.
What's the difference between D.Pharm and B.Pharm?+
D.Pharm is a 2-year diploma; B.Pharm is a 4-year bachelor's degree. Both qualify for RPh registration, but B.Pharm opens broader industry roles and higher pay scales. D.Pharm graduates can lateral-enter Year 2 of B.Pharm via state counselling if they want to upgrade later.
Is there an entrance exam for D.Pharm?+
It depends on the seat. Government D.Pharm seats are filled via state CETs (KEA-DCET, MH-CET, TS-EAPCET, AP-EAMCET, JEECUP). Direct-admission private PCI colleges like Noble accept students on 10+2 merit only — no entrance exam.
